This beautiful Victorian cottage was originally the coachman’s house and stands at the bottom of the hill opposite the main gates of Place and is only 100 yards from the slipway and dinghy park. One of its main features is its wonderfully sunny and sheltered rear patio.
Downstairs is a small entrance hall and a pretty and light sitting room with a small Victorian fireplace and a log burner. The tall, leaded windows let in all the afternoon and evening sunlight. Next door is a spacious kitchen diner seating eight in comfort, with another large leaded window which lets in the morning sunlight. Through the kitchen is a back hall leading off which is a cloakroom/shower room, and a single bedroom with room for a cot or put up bed. The back hall has a washing machine and clothes airer.
Upstairs there is a sweet double bedroom with a 5′ bed, a twin room with 3′ beds, and a bathroom. If a cot is put up in the twin room only one of the single beds can be used at the same time. Some visitors put the cot on the landing between the two bedrooms.
The original back door opens onto a completely secret, paved courtyard, surrounded by ancient stone walls covered in rambling roses and honeysuckle, which catches the sun all day. A door in the wall leads to the car parking area with room for two cars parked one behind the other.
We ask guests not to park their cars and boat outside the cottage on the road or verges.
There is a table and chairs on the patio
Broadband/wi-fi is good.
Up to 3 well-behaved dogs are welcome at an additional cost of £30 per dog / per week
