Cellars Cottage

Cellars Cottage

Sleeps 8/11

On the first floor Cellars has 3 double bedrooms. Two of these can have twin beds or double beds. The double bedroom has an en-suite loo and basin with a bath in the room. The fourth bedroom is a single bedroom with 2 full size single beds so it’s tight. There is one separate bathroom on this floor.

On the ground floor is a kitchen/living room with a table that seats 10 and an open fire. A separate loo and a shower room. In addition there is a sitting room with one set of bunks and a single sofa bed.

The let property includes a terrace and parking area for 3 to 4 cars. The terrace has outdoor seating plus a table, a BBQ and a shower.

Attached to the house but accessed via an outside door is a laundry / wet suit drying room and a further loo.

The photos show the house with the tide in. When the tide is out, the area immediately in front of the house is sand and mud.

Route

There are two routes to access Cellars Cottage. Both are over 1 km off road.

  1. The main route is for 4 x 4 only. It involves leaving the main road and taking a farm lane 5 mtrs beyond Barton House drive at ///walking.frail.cakes, crossing the farmyard, following the field track heading for cattle grid at ///sprinter.spurted.outfit and turning in there down the steep grass field and then left onto the lane at the bottom.
  1. The secondary route is a backup route and can be used in winter and is available for grocery delivery vehicles and saloon cars. It involves driving across the Place House lawn through gate at ///unloaded.yawned.cautious and following round the track which follows the bay. There are two gates on this route to be opened and closed. The second though, is electric and requires a code.

There is no pedestrian access across the lawn of Place House

The Drive

There is a grass area in front of the house (approx. 200 mtrs x 35mtrs) which is mown and was once beach. We try to keep this relatively private for you, but it is not part of the let area and may be used once or twice a year by the family who may erect a tent or have a BBQ. The only access to this “lawn” is via the drive and down the ramp in front of the house so this is used occasionally by staff and family to gain access to mow or use the beach.

Ferry

The footpath that takes you to the ferry to St Mawes and from there to Falmouth is a 1250 mtrs walk which takes you behind Place House and via St Anthony church. Alternatively you can drive around and park by the slip leaving you with a 200 mtr walk

Boats

You can launch either from the slip or the beach and keep your boat on a mooring or on the beach.
